Automotive Distribution Channel Strategy and Structure to the UK : The Case of Kia, Hyundai, and Daewoo

International distribution bas expanded in line with the growth of world trade and in the number and scale of multinational companies. It is particularly important to countries, such as South Korea, that are heavily dependent on international trade. For international trade, manufacturers can choose carious channels. They can use a broker, or export directly, or sell directly from the home country or build a facility in the foreign country. Each cf these channel strategy has advantages in certain situations, so the choice of international distribution channel and strategy are critical. However, there is a lack of discussion in the existing literature regarding distribution channels. Furthermore, most products we their own particular distribution channels, bemuse every product has its own unique character and therefore distribution systems will differ accordingly. Moreover, secondary data concerning the car industry's distribution channels are rare due to the business nature of the industry. Thus, this research present the Korean car manufacturers distribution channel structure and strategy to the UK market, followed by literature review on distribution channel strategy and performance, before discussing the way to improve distribution channel performance.
