Hydrophilic and Hydrophobic Calcium-Phosphonate Monoester Metal-Organic Layers
2021
Abstract Two isostructural calcium-phosphonate monoester layered coordination polymers grafted with methoxyethyl (Ca-L1) and ethyl (Ca-L2) groups were synthesized by solvothermal method. Both materials can be exfoliated into metal-organic layers (MOLs) with structure retention via a “top-down” approach. The introduction of phosphonate monoester (PME) grafting groups not only ensures the formation of two-dimensional layers but also plays an important role to regulate the hydrophilicity-hydrophobicity and water stability of the materials.
