Controller of winding tension of linear body

PURPOSE: To suppress small fluctuation of tension which is generated when optical fiber (including coated fiber of optical fiber tape) is wound. CONSTITUTION: Both ends of a shaft 48 of a dancer pulley 46 are guided by a guide rail 44. The shaft 48 of pulley is supported by a spring 52 which is provided in parallel with the guide rail 44, and a damper 54 is provided in parallel with the spring 52. An optical fiber 30 is wound by making it into contact the outer periphery of pulley 46 by adequate length of it. Consequently, inertia is small because the dancer pulley 46 is supported by the spring 52. In particular, inertia is further reduced when the dancer pulley is made of light material. Therefore, the controller can follow small fluctuation of winding tension. Further, if it is used together with the conventional tension controller which uses the principle of lever, it can correspond to any fluctuation of tension. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
