Analysis on antimicrobial volatile metabolites of Brevibacillus brevis FJAT-8672 by headspace-solide phase microextraction-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.

2014
Objective To identify the antimicrobial volatile metabolites ofBrevibacillus brevis FJAT-8672 Methods The antibacterial effect of the volatile metabolites from Brevibacillus brevis FJAT-8672 to Fusarium oxysporum was tested,by using the two separate plates.HS-SPME-GC/MS was applied to analyze the volatile metabolites of Brevibacillus brevis FJAT-8672.Results The inhibition rate of volatile metabolites from Brevibacillus brevis FJAT-8672 to Fusarium oxysporum was about 36.10%.Twenty-one volatile metabolites were identified with high compatibility.According to the chemical structure, they could be classified into alcohols, esters, aldehydes, ketones, and so on.Aldehyde compounds had the highest counts of the volatile metabolites. Conclusion There were two sorts of functional compounds in the FJAT-8672,one had the active ingredients such as antibacterial and anticancer, including Cedrol,Nonana and Decanal. The other related to the microbial metabolic metabolites, including Benzaldehyde.
