Sequence diversity analysis of G gene and G-L intergenic region of Rabies virus in Yunnan province

To investigate the molecular diversity and evolution relationship of rabies viruses(RV),the G gene and G-L intergenic region were cloned and sequenced from 18 RV isolates isolated from different counties in Yunnan province during 2006 to 2011.The results showed the isolates from Yunnan province belonged to SerotypeⅠand GenotypeⅠ,and existed two lineages(China-Ⅰand Thailand),The China-Ⅰcould be further divided in to three sub-lineages(ChinaⅠ-1 to ChinaⅠ-3).The phylogenic analysis results between G gene and G-L intergenic were different between three samples,YNYL2010,YNQJ07,and YNRL022011 which belonged to lineage or sub-lineage ChinaⅠ-1,ChinaⅠ-2,Thailand in G gene analysis,but belonged to ChinaⅠ-2,China Ⅰ-3,ChinaⅠ-1 in G-L intergenic region,respectively.The results indicated that the G gene and G-L intergenic region of rabies virus in Yunnan province had existed genetic diversities,and the viruses might have different origin even in thesame lineage or sub-lineage.
