Dermatophytes are a group of closely related fungi that have the capacity to invade keratinized tissues (hair, skin & nail) of human and other animals to produce an infection, dermatophytosis commonly known as ringworm [1]. Though worldwide in distribution, it is more prevalent in Tropical and Subtropical region. Dermatophytes are more prevalent in India due to favourable climatic conditions like temperature and humidity [2].
