Oxidative stress and pulmonary fibrosis

2019
Pulmonary fibrosis is a kind of chronic lung disease which leads to a poor prognosis in most patients.Unfortunately, there is no effective treatment to stop the progression of pulmonary fibrosis up to now.Its pathological features mainly show the excessive proliferation of fibroblasts and the deposition of a large number of extracellular matrix, which eventually leads to the destruction of lung structure and respiratory failure. At present, the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis has not been fully elucidated, oxidative stress is one of its important pathogenesis.Studies have shown that oxidative stress is mainly caused by imbalance between oxidation and antioxidation. Therefore, this paper reviews the effect and mechanism progress of oxidative and antioxidative factors in oxidative stress in pulmonary fibrosis in recent years. Key words: Pulmonary fibrosis; Oxidative stress; Reactive oxygen species
