Rola szlaku sygnalizacyjnego Wnt w patogenezie zawału i pozawałowej niewydolności serca. Alternatywny cel terapeutyczny

2016
The Wnt signalling pathway is a complex, conservative network of molecular interactions which is most active in tissue formation and regeneration processes. A growing number of studies suggest that its suboptimal function can be crucial in cardiovascular diseases. Acute coronary syndromes are the most frequent cause of heart failure. The pharmacological agents used up to date are mainly renin–angiotensin–aldosterone and sympathetic signalling antagonists. Studies show that interference with the Wnt pathway in the post myocardial infarction period may hinder left ventricular remodelling and left ventricle function impairment, preventing early complications, as well as the development of chronic heart failure.
