Poly(ethylene glycol)-Poly(lactic acid) Polymeric Micelles as Novel Drug Delivery System in Cancer Therapy: An Overview

2016
Polyethylene glycol–polylactic acid (PEG–PLA) polymeric micelles have been received much attention in recent years in cancer treatment due to number of advantages such as high drug loading efficiency, low toxicity, unique size factor and capability to sustain more drug payload with tuneable surfaces. Further, sustained drug release performance of such unique micelles with reduced size effects further facilitates enhanced bioavailability of chemotherapeutic agents. This overview makes a concise account of recent progress in use of PEG-PLA based polymeric micelles as effective drug delivery system (DDS) in treatment of cancer in modern day.
