A large dynamic range detector for measurement of neutron-induced charged particle spectra down to zero degrees
1989
Abstract A facility has been developed for simultaneously measuring 15–65 MeV protons and deuterons produced from neutrons induced ( n , x z) reactions in the angular range 0° to 60°. The large angular range is achieved through a unique dual target system. The 0° measurement is made possible by a static dipole magnetic field. Trajectory tracing and event reconstruction are accomplished simply and quickly using multiwire chambers and an approximation technique. Spectra measured from the 12 C(n, p x ) reaction are presented and compared to data collected previously at angles away from 0°.
