Orientation phase transition inFe3BO6: Experimental determination of the order of the transition

Magnetization, coercive force, radio frequency, and static susceptibilities were measured near the magnetic orientation phase transition point of the ${\mathrm{Fe}}_{3}\mathrm{B}{\mathrm{O}}_{6}$ crystal. The data exhibit characteristic features of both first and second order transitions, thus indicating the nearly intermediate nature of the ${\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{2}\text{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{4}$ transition in this material.
