PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte capable of realizing a battery which lessens generation of gas and is high capacity and has excellent preservation characteristics and excellent cyclic characteristics, and a nonaqueous electrolyte battery manufactured by using the same nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte includes an electrolyte and an nonaqueous solvent for melting the electrolyte, and includes a compound expressed by a general expression 1. Here, R 1 to R 4 are a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, or a monovalent substituent of the carbon numbers 1 to 12.
