Estudo Etnoterminológico Preliminar do Sistema de Cura e Cuidados do Povo Mundurukú (Tupí)
2013
The research "Preliminary Study of Ethnoterminology of the Munduruku (Tupi) Cure and Care System " focuses, punctually, the description and analysis of the terms of the health (care and cure) Munduruku employed by indigenous people in their own culture and language. It is therefore the result of a character analysis of terminological specialty speeches of a Brazilian indigenous ethnicity. Therefore we present a review of Ethnoterminology and a new proposal that extends the epistemology and determines a new object of study. We use the basis of the Communicative Theory of Terminology, the Ethnolinguistic, the Ecolinguistic and the Socioterminology. Regarding the methodology, the research follows the Qualitative Method, relying especially on ethnography and oral interviews with open questionnaires. As a result of this research we have an epistemological and methodological Ethnoterminology proposal focused on the technical and scientific knowledge of indigenous peoples and other 'traditional' peoples, and the formulation of an Ethnoterminography proposal of presentation of the terms, specifically applied to the Munduruku people (Para) Cure and Care System.
