A study of the rate dependence of the gain of gas microstrip detectors with glass substrates in high intensity particle beams

Abstract Gas microstrip chambers built using two different types of glass substrate have been exposed to beams of minimum ionising particles from the CERN SPS. The gain and efficiency of the chambers have been measured as a function of the intensity of the beam.
