Performance analysis of single and multiple current sensor based speed control of BLOC motor using fuzzy and PI controllers

BLOC motor find its usefulness in various applications due to its high power density and ease of control, such as in battery operated vehicle, wheel chairs, industrial robots, militaries etc. In this paper closed loop current control single current sensor technique is proposed. Motor phase currents are measured using current sensors, which are very expensive. Use of multiple sensors cause imbalance in phase currents which results in poor performance and reliability of the system. These problems can mitigated by using single current sensor at dc link. Speed control can attained by conventional controller. Where conventional controllers pose difficulties due to parametric variations and load disturbances. To overcome these issues, a fuzzy based artificial intelligent technique is used. The proposed method concept is verified using MATLAB/Simulink. The proposed single current strategy enhances the performance of speed control of BLOC motor.
