EFFECT OF GRINDING MECHANISM ON PHYSIOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF β–C_2S

2006
The mechanochemical effect and hydration activity change of single-mineral β–C2S ground with high energy ball mill were studied using laser particle sizing technology, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, heat conduction micro-calorimetric technology and infrared spectrum analysis methods. The results show that the mechanochemical effect not only results in fast reduction of β–C2S pellets , reduced crystal grain, increased micro strain and the effective λBeff parameter, with distinct gradualness, but also results in the breakdown and reorganization of the Si—O bond, the superfine powder reunion, the enhancement of the vibration energy and the disorder of crystal, and finally leads to mechanochemical change of β–C2S and the enhancement of hydration activity.
