Effects of serum bile acid level in intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy on pregnant women and fetuses

2010
Objective:To explore the relationship of bile acid level and its effects on patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP)and fetuses. Methods:The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in 102 ICP patients between Jan.2007 and Dec.2008,and all subjects were divided into group A(≥86 nmol/L)and group B(86 nmol/L)according to serum bile acid level before termination of pregnancy. The incidence rate of serious complication of perinatal stage and pregnancy was observed and analyzed statistically. Results:The two groups were significantly different in statistics concerning the perinatal complications(P0.05)and variation of the liver function in patients before and after intervention(P0.05).Conclusion:The higher bile acid level may lead to poor prognosis in ICP patients. The effective measures should be intensive care of the fetuses and early termination of pregnancy.
