Computer model of long-term hazards from waste repositories. [Nutron computer programs]

1981
The NUTRAN package of computer programs calculates doses to humans from radioactivity carried out of deep geologic waste repositories by groundwater. It computes the formation and decay of radionuclides, their transport in groundwater, surface waters, and ecosystems, and doses to humans from exposure. The effects of disruptive events can be included in the calculations. NUTRAN has been used to calculate doses from the repository system described by the Swedish Nuclear Fuel Safety Project (KBS). The results are in excellent agreement with those calculated by KBS using a simpler and less flexible group of codes.
