Method and apparatus for determining the total mass of an electrically drivable vehicle

The present invention relates to methods for determining total mass of an electrically drivable vehicle. The method thus calculates a total mass of the vehicle on the basis of Newton's second law for purely electrically powered vehicle, taking into account a slope and a cruising speed of the vehicle. Alternatively or additionally, a compression distance can be measured within an assembly of the occupied vehicle, and to be closed from a predefined or previously determined stiffness of the crush distance in consideration of a current weight distribution of force on the overall mass of the vehicle.
