Signal Chain of Programmable System on Chip for Magnetic Tracking Sensors

2020
The paper deals with the problem of developing magnetic tracking sensors for high-precision objects localization within the concepts of Internet of things and virtual reality. Magnetic tracking technology is based on calculating the position of objects upon dynamic measurement of the reference magnetic field vectors. The reference magnetic fields are formed by arrays of actuator coils in low-frequency electromagnetic radiation spectrum. The work provides a solution to the problem of developing a signal chain of sensors intended for full pose magnetic tracking. The proposed solutions are aimed at enhancing the accuracy and expansion of measurement volumes of the pose measurement. The novelty of our solutions consists in an algorithm of noise-immune conversion under dynamic switching between the signal chain parameters. The signal chain was implemented using PSoC 5LPFamily by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation and thus conforms the concept of programmable systems on chip.
