Synthesis and Elucidation of Structure for Ethyl Triazine Carboxylate

A unspecified impurity in diclazutil,ethyl 2-[3,5-dichloro-4-[(RS)-(4-chlorophenyl)cyanomethy]phenyl]-3,5-dioxo-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,2,4-triazine-6-carboxylate was synthesized,and its structure was elucidated with MS,elememt analysis,IR,UV and NMR.Results confirmed that the impurity was produced from the reaction of triazine carboxylic acid and ethanol under catalysis of acid.This study is significant for improving diclazuril quality and decreasing impurity in diclazuril.
