GEOMETRIC DESIGN OF STREETS AND HIGHWAYS

1993
This publication was prepared to serve as text book for the course of road design in the university. The focus is on the geometric design of highways. Separate sections deal with the design of streets and at- grade intersections. First, a background discussion of design aspects is provided. The topic areas handled are: design of cross-sections; road alignment; how to improve road geometry; design of routes for cycling and pedestrians; selection of type and design of at-grade junctions. Finally, use of automatic data processing in the design of streets and highways is discussed.
