Development and Application of a Generic EPA OPC Server

Integrating tools are necessary for integrating EPA intelligent instruments into control systems. Due to the shortage of EPA integrating tools, a generic EPA OPC server model was introduced in this study. The model reduced the difficulty of deployment, increased the reuse ability and lowered cost. Standardization work on EPA function block and device profile was carried out. A generic EPA OPC server model was given out based on the standardized device model. Drivers for EPA flow meters and pressure transmitters were deployed. With the support of OPC deployment kit, an EPA OPC server was built. The OPC server passed the software test of Chongqing Software Testing Center. Through integrating into configuration software and practical application in industrial field, the EPA OPC server was tested. The testing result proved that the OPC server had the advantages of consistency, openness and universality.
