Device for displaying video image to user and method therefor

PURPOSE: To provide a virtual reality environment displayed at low costs by using a previously recorded actual image by displaying a video image from a series of frames or lines of a video signal from a previously recorded frame or line source. CONSTITUTION: A video collecting system 10 collects and records a series of images for generating a virtual reality environment, and a series of images indicating the visual field of complete 360 deg. are collected. Then, a video image is displayed from a series of frames or lines of a video signal from a previously recorded frame or line source. One part of a series of frames or lines is recorded based on a direction decided by a direction device opposite to a user, and the recorded part is read from a memory and then displayed. The video image obtained from an image generating device 100 is converted into a video signal, and outputted to a video multiplexing device 100. The image generating device 100 is controlled so that a series of images are generated.
