Laser Photoradiation Therapy of Recurrent Human Breast Cancer and Cancer of the Head and Neck

We have been involved in a clinical trial of photoradiation therapy (PRT) for recurrent cancer. This report describes our initial experience with this technique. The aim of this pilot study was to determine practicality of PRT. Once this aim had been accomplished, our next goal was to refine treatment parameters to maximize the theoretical selective cytotoxicity of hematoporphyrin derivative (HPD) and light (625–640 nm).
