20 S uturing of minor uncomplicated wounds is easy to learn and master. But there is no such thing as a simple cut until it has been demonstrated that there is no foreign body or dirt in the wound, and there is no damage to any underlying nerves or tendons. Care should be taken when repairing any wound — however small — since even a small cut that has been sutured badly can easily result in haematoma, infection or an unsightly scar.
