A study of the coastal floods is presented in the county Guantanamo during the period 1960 - 2018, embracing the systems meteorological generators, affected areas, and magnitude, homogenizing her with those of the rest of the country. The results of the territorial project “Study of the coastal floods was used in the city of Baracoa”, the studies of concerning PVR to this phenomenon, and of the national project “Procedure for the execution and use of the observations of the state of the marine surface from coastal stations in the prediction of the surf and coastal floods in the territory cuban”, exchanges with residents of coastal areas, files of the CMP of Guantanamo, of the INSMET, of the Civil Defense and of the CITMA in Baracoa, press reports, and the reanalisis NCEP/NCAR (Natinal for Environmental Prediction/National Center for Atmosphere Research) of the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration). You concludes that the coastal floods in the county are generated by the affectation of migratory anticyclones, the interaction of these with low extratropicales, and for tropical hurricanes, being the coast of Baracoa the most vulnerable area. The results can be used in the perception of the risk that the population possesses as for the affectation of coastal floods rising, the bring up to date of the studies of PVR of disaster related with this danger, as well as in the plans of contingency of the Government's organs and Civil Defense as instrument in the taking of decisions and of territorial confrontation to the climatic change contemplated in the task life.
