Fast SAW Device Simulation in COMSOL Using the Hierarchical Cascading Method

The “hierarchical cascading” method [1] is used together with COMSOL software allowing about 100 times faster simulations for long SAW structures, including blocks of periodically repeated electrodes. Using COMSOL is convenient for creation of FEM model, description of physical properties of different elements of SAW device, mesh generation, etc., and the use of cascading procedure simultaneously allows to solve FEM only for one or a few basic block units, thus strongly accelerating the simulations and reducing required computer memory.
