Parameters of barrier discharges in coplaner arrangements

The parameters of barrier discharges in coplanar arrangements were obtained on the basis of a 2D numerical model. It was found that the configuration of the electrode system (distance between a pair of electrodes, electrode width and thickness of the dielectric layer above the electrodes and permittivity) determines the overall parameters of the discharge device. The ignition voltage, effective capacitances, amplitude and shape of the discharge current were obtained and are in good agreement with measured ones.
