Studies on the structure of a new ellagic acid glycoside from the root-sprouts of Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb.

Four compounds were isolated from the root-sprouts of Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb. On the basis of physico-chemical properties, spectroscopy (UV, IR, NM R, MS) and chemical degradation, a new compound was elucidated as ellagic acid-4-O-β-D-xylopyranoside. (ⅩⅤ), and three known compounds were identified as agrimonolide (ⅩⅢ), tormentic acid (ⅩⅣ), and ellagic acid (ⅩⅥ).
