High-Power Solid-State Sodium Beacon Laser Guidestar for the Gemini North Observatory

Coherent Technologies, Inc. is developing the world's first commercial sodium guidestar laser. The 14 W, 589 nm laser is scheduled to be delivered to Gemini North Observatory on Mauna Kea, Hawaii in November of 2004.
