This report presents the findings of the IRIS feasibility study. IRIS is an advanced traveler information system providing information on public transit. The focus of the IRIS system is threefold: 1) it provides the client with information tailored to their individual preferences; 2) the information is precise and up-to-the minute in terms of the traveler's location; and, 3) the information is dynamic such that it takes into account up-to-date services. The underlying principle behind IRIS is that the traveler is in charge at all times with information being provided only if it is requested.
