Vision and touch: Textile surfaces for unsighted individuals

A search of studies on the relation of visually impaired individuals to fashion products, considering the textile material, was carried out. This search used a theoretical approach based on the review of scientific papers, with the purpose of understanding these consumers and what leads them to the purchasing act. It is necessary to understand how important touch perception is for the buying decision of a fashion product, taking into account the texture of the surface, as well as the quality and colour of the fabric. Furthermore, the way these elements influence the consumer’s purchase decision is also necessary to understand. This initial approach represents a starting point for future research considering clothing, unsighted individuals, and their relationship with fashion brands.
