XANES study of Eu species encapsulated in potassium Y-type zeolite

Abstract Eu L 3 -edge XANES of europium amide complexes in zeolite cages evacuated at various temperatures has shown that the complexes decompose by a valence variation of Eu. Deconvolution of XANES allows us to determine the fraction of Eu 2+ and Eu 3+ . Combining the results of TPD and XANES, the formation of EuNH and Eu 2 N 3 in zeolite was concluded.
