The invention provides a face recognition device on one hand; the face recognition device comprises a camera (6), a servo unit (13) and a control unit (12), wherein the camera (6) is used for acquiring a face image; the servo unit (13) is used for driving the camera (6) to rotate at a set speed; and the control unit (12) is used for controlling the servo unit (13) to drive the camera (6) to rotate at the set speed and simultaneously controlling the camera (6) to obtain the face image at a set scanning speed when the camera (6) rotates; on the other hand, the invention provides a face image recognition method for the face recognition device, wherein the face recognition device comprises the camera; and the method comprises the steps of configuring the servo unit for the camera of the face recognition device, controlling the camera to rotate by the servo unit and to acquire the face image at the set scanning speed, and processing the acquired face image. The face recognition device and the face image recognition method are good in recognition effect and recognition efficiency.
