The Study of Antioxidation and Reducing Ability of Polysaccharides from Pogonatherum crinitum

2015
The ultrasonic extraction method was used to extract the polysaccharide from Pogonatherum crinitum. The clearing hydroxyl radical (OH ) and the superoxide anion (  2 O − ) activity of purified polysaccharide were operated to evaluate polysaccharide in vitro antioxidant activity; hydroxyl radical (OH ) was produced by Fenton reaction, and superoxide anion (  2 O − ) was produced by pyrogallol autoxidation. The spectrophotometric method was used to determine the sodium nitrite removal ability of the extracted polysaccharide solution of different concentrations. The results showed that the Pogonatherum crinitum polysaccharide has good scavenging ability not only on superoxide anion and hydroxyl radical, but also on sodium nitrite.
