The effects of gadoloslde on atrial natriuretic pepide gene expresslon in rats

2000
OBJECTIVE To study the effects of gadoloside on atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) gene expression.METHODS The rats were abdominally injected with sodium chloride solution of gadoloside 15 mg·kg -1 ·d -1 for 30 days.Atria total RNA was extracted by the cold phenol method. The ANP-mRNA contents were determined using the Northem blot and Dot blot hybridization technique with α- 32 P-Labelled r-prepro-ANP-cDNA probe.RESULTS The ANP-mRNA contents of old rats were remarkably less than that of young rats.Salidroside increased the ANP-mRNA content of old rats, whereas it decreased the ANP-mRNA content of young rats.CONCLUSION The ANP gene expression declined during aging development and salidroside possessed anti-aging effects in the heart endocrine function.
