The early experiences of a single tertiary Italian emergency department treating COVID-19 in children.

Italy has been badly affected by COVID-19, despite strict quarantine measures. Up to 1 June 2020, 2.1% of the positive cases in Italy were aged 0-18 years, with no paediatric deaths (1). This paper focuses on the clinical features, laboratory and imaging data and outcomes of 24 patients admitted to the Emergency Department (ED) at IRCCS Gaslini Children's Hospital, Genoa, Italy, from 24 February to 16 April 2020.
