Investigation on Species and Distribution of Borer Pests in Diseased Stumps of Pine Wood Nematode

2009
Two heavy damaged pine forests by Pine Wilting Nematode(PWN) were selected, dead pine trees were lopped,10 infested stumps with borer symptoms for each forest were digged out and dissected, borer pests inside were collected, identified and counted in the laboratory. The results showed that the borers in stumps were Monochamus alternatus,Asemum amurense,Shirahoshizo patruelis,Hyposipalus gigas, etc.with ratio 96.0%,3.0% and 0.7%,other pests 0.3%,respectively.Monochamus alternatus,Shirahoshizo patruelis and Hyposipalus gigas which consist of 9.5% of total pests were in the stumps above ground, only Monochamus alternatus that consists of 90.5% of total pests was found in the stumps underground. The number of larvae of Monochamus alternatus that gathered in the stumps of 0~60cm underground reduced with the increasing depth.
