Optimal Capacity Planning based on Energy Sharing Platform for Virtual Residential Microgrid

2020
As an emerging business model, energy sharing mechanism enables resource optimization through the redistribution, sharing, and reuse of idle assets. In this paper, an effective optimal capacity planning based on the energy sharing platform is developed for capacity configuration in a virtual residential microgrid (VRMG). A novel energy sharing mechanism is further improved, in which the mathematical model of energy services included renewable energy sources (RESs) generation and energy storage for the VRMG is formulated. Moreover, in view of the changes in household load and RESs generation, the end-users within the sharing platform could periodically adjust their optimal wind-PV-storage capacity to meet the different energy needs. Numerical examples are conducted to illustrate the performance of the proposed energy sharing mechanism and capacity planning method.
