Survival Results in Patients Aged of 60 Years and Older in France

2014
s S63 when compare to male donors of the same age group (30-day 8.5% vs 6.9%, 1-year 17.9% vs 15.1%, both p< 0.05). Conclusion: Donor age greater than 50 and particularly above 55 is associated with increased lengths of stay as well as higher 30-day and 1-year mortality rates in cardiac transplant recipients. Female donor age greater than 50 confers an additional risk of short term mortality compared to males. Although additional consideration should be weighed when using donors greater than age 50, survival achieved with older donors remains better than published rates with optimal medical management.
