Efficient One‐Pot Synthesis of 2‐Arylbenzo[b]furans from 2‐Styrylphenols Using CuBr2.

The title compounds (III) and (VI) are prepared by a novel and convenient protocol which has the advantage of experimental simplicity and the use of an inexpensive reagent.
