NORDIC GROUP FOR WINTER MAINTENANCE SERVICES. ACTIVITY REPORT FOR 2003

This activity report concerns research and development within the winter maintenance service area in the Nordic countries. The first two parts of the publication contains brief descriptions of recently completed research and research in progress. In the next part the Danish project VINTERMAN is presented in more detail. Attempts have been made to improve the management system through new technology and to simplify and modernise the contract system. This requires better description of the tasks and check procedures. The maintenance system VINTERMAN in Denmark is under continuous development and there is also developed a simpler system, VINTERMAN Light. In the last part of the report some basic statistics for the winter maintenance in the Nordic countries is presented.
