Process and apparatus for diagnosis of a diverter valve of an internal combustion engine with compressor

There are proposed a method and an apparatus for diagnosing a diverter valve (1) of an internal combustion engine (5) with a compressor (10), which allow a diagnosis of a faulty open clamping diverter valve (1). For diagnosis, a time characteristic of a supercharging pressure of the internal combustion engine (5) due to a predetermined actuation of the diverter valve (1) is evaluated, wherein the actuation of the diverter valve (1) is performed such that a verbrachtes in the direction of its closed position diverter valve (1) is expected. Depending on the autogenous temporal course of the charging pressure, an open jamming diverter valve (1) is diagnosed if the timing of the charging pressure is plausible not expected with a verbrachtes in the direction of its closed position diverter valve (1) over time.
