SWITCH project Tel-Aviv Demo City, Mekorot's case: hybrid natural and membranal processes to up-grade effluent quality.

Since 2006 the SWITCH International Consortium coordinated by UNESCO-IHE has been working to develop a new and more integrated approach to urban water management. In Tel-Aviv, the two SWITCH project partners (Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Mekorot) formed the ‘‘Water Club’’ in the context of the Learning Alliance (LA) concept developed in SWITCH. The ‘‘Water Club’’ includes representatives from the municipality, government authorities, water companies, water consumers (inhabitants, farmers) universities and NGO’s. It has held meetings and workshops during 2006–2010 to pinpoint important water issues for the city and also for the country. The Water Club decided to take action in two fields:
