Investigation on the influence of different rear tracks on the lateral stability of tractor employing model test

Abstract. Tractor lateral stability is an important factor in the safety of the operator. In view of the different influences of different tractor rear track on the lateral stability of the tractor, this model built a model tractor with adjustable rear track, and studied the influence of different rear track on the lateral stability of the tractor. The results show that the rear track significantly affects the lateral stability of the tractor. With the increase of the rear track, the lateral stability of the tractor increases significantly. At the same time, the rear track increase function does not show a significant correlation with the tractor lateral stability function. Since the excessive rear track increases the tractor manufacturing cost and reduces its flexibility, the choice of the rear track needs to be considered comprehensively. For all factors, choose the most suitable rear track. The research results of this study can provide reference and theoretical guidance for improving the lateral stability of the tractor and how to choose the rear track.
