To the Editor: We read with interest the article by MacLeod et al.1 They compared 265 ischemic stroke cases with 293 controls and found no difference in distribution of this common variant in the elderly.1 As nitric oxide (NO) plays a critical role in the pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia, we aimed to evaluate the role of this variant in Turkish children with cerebral infarcts.
