Optimization of resistive attenuator coating for TWT performance improvement

2018
A resistive attenuator coating of suitable profile is provided on dielectric rods to support helical slow-wave structure in a TWT to prevent oscillations. Moreover, its profile value, length etc plays an important role in gain and average power of the TWT. In this paper, authors have presented effect of attenuator coating length with fixed tip loss value and vis-a-vis on the gain and average output power of a low gain TWT and its comparison with measured data.
