DRIVING BEHAVIOR AND SAFETY MEASURES OF THE AGED

1984
The population of the aged in Japan is rapidly increasing in Japan will be confronted with a different social situation from that of the European and American longevity countries. It is forecast that the problems of an aging society, especially in the traffic field, become more serious than those in other fields. Thus we should review the existing safety measures. In this report we discuss ways that the aged can participate in the traffic society, how they can be made aware of the changes in their physical abilities, and ways for them to drive safely and harmoniously in order to contribute to the development of safety and social activities.
