The effect of optical properties of many-season cover materials on greenhouse efficiency

1999
New transparent materials and structures with light-scattering and heat-retaining effects used in greenhouses for soil protection are shown to reduce plants overheating by 5-6%, heat losses by 7-8%, polymer consumption by a factor of 2-4, and the greenhouse cover cost by a factor of 1.5-2.5 in hot season.
